I operate a state licensed home daycare that provides care for infants through age five. I am open daily from 7:30 a.m. To 5:30 p.m. My daycare has a private entrance, with play room, kitchen and a separate nap room. A television free environment! A large fenced in play yard with age appropriate play equipment. Conveniently located two minute from the 95 off ramp. Two minutes from town center and green. Within walking distance of Hand High School, Polson Jr. High School and Jeffrey elementary School. I have been in business for over twenty years.
I have always enjoyed children. When I was in high school, I was the neighborhood babysitter. I earned a degree in early childhood education from Tunxis College. I was an assistant pre-school teacher for the three and four year old group, at a large daycare facility that cared for ninety children. Eventually, I requested to move to the infant to two year old group where I found the most joy. In 1985 I left the facility and opened my own daycare. I have raised two boys of my own whom are now 28 and 20.I am CPR and first aid certified. Also certified in administration of medicine. I have also attended numerous children’s workshops. I am a member of the Second Homes Association.
For toddlers I offer the Early Start curriculum with weekly schedules that include, story time, music and movement, fun learning activities such as ABC's to One Two Three's, shape and color recognition, games for learning to share and respecting others, outdoor play and age appropriate projects.
